Here’s a great video of Courtney Marie Andrews performing Aretha Franklin’s “Do Right Woman, Do Right Man” at St. Marks Cathedral in Seattle (Sat 3rd May 2014).
This was part of an entirely a’capella evening called Cathedrals VIII and the video was captured by Eratosthenes Fackenthall (aka eratosthenesvideo)
The line-up for Cathedrals VIII included Damien Jurado as a secret guest, alongside Courtney Marie Andrews, Shenandoah Davis, Erin Austin, Lotte Kestner, Daniel Blue, Pollens, Hannalee, Pepper Proud, Bradford Loomis, Kye Alfred Hillig, Greg Paul & Holly Merrill and Sophia Duccini.
Below you can see Courtney with many of these names performing “Edelweiss” from The Sound Of Music
You can find more videos from the night on eratosthenesvideo‘s YouTube channel.
– Ok Sweetheart – “If You Let It”
– Lotte Kestner – “Have You Sailed Home”
– Hannalee – “Mystery”
– Bradford Loomis (w/ Beth Whitney) – “Salve Regina / Swing Low, Sweet Chariot”
– Pollens and friends (video by Dan’l Linehan)
You can find more photos and video if you search for #seattlecathedrals on Instagram and Twitter
If that’s whetted your appetite for more a’capella songs, be sure to check out Courtney performing two tunes from last year’s BARE4 event at Fremont Abbey: ‘Guide You Home‘ and a cover of Neil Young’s ‘Helpless‘
